Welcome to Mill Pottery, Tom Agnew / Artist Potter
Mill Pottery was established in 1976 by Tom Agnew. He works in idyllic surroundings with time to pursue a very personal approach to his craft. After many years as a well kept secret, the pottery is now firmly on the visitor trail and Tom extends a warm invitation to come and share what he has enjoyed for over 30 years.

The studio, formerly a flax scutching mill on the river Dennett with it's impressive water wheel still intact, represents a piece of rural history which lives on with it's new use. A visit to Dunamanagh, (from the Irish Dun Na Manach - Fort of the Monks) provides an opportunity to see the daily workings of the pottery in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a showroom area where an amazing choice of pots is displayed. Wrought to the highest standards of production, Tom Agnew's wares are sought after by a discriminating public, who know how to value the blend of tradition and modern inspiration embodied in these handcrafted works of outstanding quality. These are collectors pieces considered to be among the very best of Irish craftwork available today. The artist - craftsman continuously explores both his inspirations and the possibilities of his medium with each piece evolving through a process of meticulous handcrafting to become a uniquely individual item, as satisfying to the hand as the eye.

Tom is free to adapt to new needs and changing concepts and to accept one-off commissions for artworks destined for both private and public settings. He is first and foremost an artist at work.
